Pix 150 - Happy Birthday???

My birthday is June 3. Day 154 for those of you keeping track , but I'll be packing for vacation so we decided to celebrate my birthday with my in-laws this weekend. My wife baked a blueberry crumb cake. Aside from the blueberries, it was awesome. Best crumbs I've ever had on a homemade crumb cake.

I can't say the same for the Happy Birthday candles. The "HAPPY" candles broke apart felt onto the cake during the walk from the kitchen to the living room. "BIRTHDAY" lasted long enough for me to make a wish. Either way, it was a good day. Thanks guys

Pix 149 - What a long strange trip...

Yesterday we got a call from my in-laws. They were going to a grand opening of a store that sold only outdoor/garden art. You know knick-knacks and stuff like that. As part of the grand opening, hot dogs, hamburgers would be served and everyone goes home with a free plant. (no purchase necessary.)

Free hot dogs and hamburgers? when do we leave?

Here's the kicker...the store was in the middle of nowhere. We drove for about 35 minutes to walk around for less than 10. Also, the grill hadn't been started up yet. We didn't wait around for burgers and we even left without our free plants.

We had Burger King for lunch. I hardly ever eat fast food, so it was a real treat. It was still a fun day. Good luck to the guy with the store. I think the prices were high and the selection was poor, but who knows, someone's trash is another one's treasure.

Pix 148 - Congrats Boston

Congrats to the Boston Celtics. They outplayed the Magic and deserve the trip to the Finals. I wonder what moves Orlando will make next season. Is there a 23 on Orlando? I'm sure he'd give up his number for Lebron. Big name to open the new arena, I'm just saying!

Unless you can get Phil Jackson, you keep Stan. He is a great coach. Good season Magic, better luck next year.

I'm icing my legs after tonight's run. 4.5 miles. Shin were pretty good. My right leg hurt a lot, but my left leg felt pretty good.

My wife told me that Wonder Pets save The Beatles is On Demand on our TV. I can't wait to watch it. Since I didn't have a picture for yesterday...and yesterday is a Beatles song, I figured this was a perfect fit.

Pix 138 - Beware the Nasty Foot

I hope nobody is eating right now. Not since Mr. Deeds have you seen a nastier foot (that's probably not true, but it's funny) I've been running since September. My feet are paying the price. I have pretty nice looking feet for a guy. Pretty hairy, but nice looking. I can wear sandals or flip flops without people wanting to vomit...well I used to be able to to.

My toes are paying a price for all the running. It looks like that left ring toe is gonna lose the nail soon and both big toes are a hot mess. But I'm getting better at running. I did over 7 miles tonight, sprinting 10 minutes of it. Come back tomorrow if you dare...

Molly's over-sized bone toy, better know as her blue toy is no more.
Sadly it was torn apart. It had a good run. Molly has been known to destroy toys in less than 6 minutes. This one lasted 8 months. It will be missed.

I had some vacation time I had to use, so we spent the day at Cocoa Beach with my in-laws and my family. We took a visit to Ron Jon Surf Shop (open 24 hours by the way) and I bought my first hat in about 4 years.

A friend of mine has been struggling to make a baby. He and his wife started seeing a fertility doctor. to test his boys, my buddy has to donate a specimen in a cup this afternoon. See the highlighted lines, that cracked me up. In the movies, they provide movies and magazines for you.
