Pix 149 - What a long strange trip...

Yesterday we got a call from my in-laws. They were going to a grand opening of a store that sold only outdoor/garden art. You know knick-knacks and stuff like that. As part of the grand opening, hot dogs, hamburgers would be served and everyone goes home with a free plant. (no purchase necessary.)

Free hot dogs and hamburgers? when do we leave?

Here's the kicker...the store was in the middle of nowhere. We drove for about 35 minutes to walk around for less than 10. Also, the grill hadn't been started up yet. We didn't wait around for burgers and we even left without our free plants.

We had Burger King for lunch. I hardly ever eat fast food, so it was a real treat. It was still a fun day. Good luck to the guy with the store. I think the prices were high and the selection was poor, but who knows, someone's trash is another one's treasure.

I had some vacation time I had to use, so we spent the day at Cocoa Beach with my in-laws and my family. We took a visit to Ron Jon Surf Shop (open 24 hours by the way) and I bought my first hat in about 4 years.

I wanted to get the hat and the "I'm a McCutie" for my son to wear today, but unfortunately the wardrobe department did not approve. (Wardrobe department = my wife) I'm 1/4 Irish, that makes my son 1/8 Irish right?

I got my tires filled for free at Discount Tires. They are selling rims starting at $85. That's how they get you in the door, but trust me, you cannot get quality rims for $85. I'm not going to get rims anytime soon, but I miss them. Don't get me wrong, my standard Honda hubcaps are pretty sweet too, but I miss having 5 star rims.

I was in BJ's Wholesale Club today and saw a 25 pound bag of sugar. I'd never seen a 25 pound bag of sugar before so I was forced to take a picture and post it up here.

I also thought to myself "Well if this is out there, just think how much more is out there! This is the kind of thing that tells me to go out there and be somebody!" (The Jerk...anyone? anyone???) Come back tomorrow for a Superbowl pix

I went to Publix tonight to purchase.....Butter. I bet you guys thought I was going to say beer, where'd you get that idea from? Publix had a Jets balloon in the beer aisle. Everyone is getting behind Gang Green! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS.

Pix 6 - Chicks Dig Me

I went to Target on the way home from work today. I needed to pick up a few things for my son (lotions, tablets, bottles.) Since I was already at the store, I figured I might as well look at the infant clothes. I stumbled upon this gem!

I didn't buy it. I was already forced to return one purchased item today. I was going to purchase it anyway, but I thought at the last second "I just don't think I can handle that kind of rejection."

Pix 2 - Is it the shoes?

Second day and so far so good. I'm not having any trouble deciding what picture to use. Today I had to decide between my lunch and my sneaker buying trip. My lunch was an all you can eat salad bar at Winter Garden Pizza. There was nothing special about the salad. The shocking part was that I went to a pizzeria and didn't order pizza. The sneakers won out easily.

Anyway, I've been running in my JC Penny's specials. A pair of Asics that are running shoes, but not really running shoes. I needed new ones. So I went to Tri&Run and picked out a pair of Pearl Izumi Cruise sneakers. I had never heard of them either, but they are comfortable shoes and the helpers at the store said they were a good fit for my running style and the arch of my foot. Check them out.
