Tomahawk Chop - 16/365

As a Mets fan, I hated doing this, but I had to bring my little buddy back a souveneir.

Jan 23 - 23/365 - J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS

It was a good run, but once again the New York Jets were eliminated in the AFC Championship game. The good news, now it's personal with the Pittsburgh Steelers too. The Sanchize has been to the Championship game in both of his NFL seasons. Next year they get over the hump and make the Super Bowl. You heard it here first.

Not what we wanted, but still a good season. Congrats and good luck to Steelers and Packers fans.

Pix 166 - Damn it's hot out there

Central Florida is going through a heat wave. It's been in the 90s for a week with heat index up over 100. I think today got to 96 with a heat index of 107. A perfect day to run a 5K no? I actually had a good time 27:49.

I could have used a Slurpee this big when I finished. Thanks to Whitney from the Johnny and Jayde Morning Show on XL1067 for letting me use this picture for today's pix of the day. Check her out here: http://twitter.com/WhitneyXL1067 or here: http://www.johnnyandjayde.com/main.html

Pix 163 - Running Stuff

I finally have some real running gear. It's almost like I'm a real runner now.

Pix 162 - World Cup

What do Uruguay, France and I have in common? We've all scored the same number of goals in the 2010 World Cup. 0
I know I will get into the World Cup in about a week or so, but for now I'm enjoying talking trash about it.

Pix 148 - Congrats Boston

Congrats to the Boston Celtics. They outplayed the Magic and deserve the trip to the Finals. I wonder what moves Orlando will make next season. Is there a 23 on Orlando? I'm sure he'd give up his number for Lebron. Big name to open the new arena, I'm just saying!

Unless you can get Phil Jackson, you keep Stan. He is a great coach. Good season Magic, better luck next year.

Pix 124 - Awesome Visitor at Work

We had a visitor at work today. It's crazy that Dwight Howard came to our office the day of a playoff game. He looks much bigger on TV too. Weird.

Pix 108 - The Triple Play

Tonight there was a very rare occurrence. All my teams (that are in season) played. The games overlapped. Thanks to PIP and my laptop, I was able to watch all 3 at once.

The Magic won. The Devils lost. The Mets are up 3-0 in the 3rd. Still a really good night.

Pix 107 - Another Race

I ran a 12K today. 7.46 miles. It was a lot of fun. Here's a shot of the finish line after all the action wound down.

Pix 105 - IOA Coporate 5K - Downtown Orlando

Yesterday in Downtown Orlando was the IOA Corporate 5K. There were over 12,000 runners. My time was pretty good considering all the weaving I had to do in an out of the walkers and the pit stop when I went off course to try to use a church bathroom. Officially I ran 29:30 Unofficially more like 28:15 or so. Have fun looking for me.

Can you find me?

What about now?

Pix 104 - The hit heard round the world

Picture it: Long Island, May, 2000.
Game 7 Eastern Conference Finals.

The Devils were down 3-1 and battled back to force a game 7. Wouldn't you know it, I also had a softball game to play that night?

I watched half of the first period before going to the game. If I remember correctly The Devils had an early lead then THE HIT happened. Eric Lindros was came skating into the Devils zone with his head down. Not usually a good move. When Scott Stevens is on the ice, it's NEVER a good move.

When I had to leave for the game Lindros was still down. I recorded the end of the game and headed out. I don't remember how we did in softball, but I was on complete media blackout. No FM or AM radio. I wouldn't let anyone at the game listen to it either.

I drove home as soon as we finished to watch the end of the game. I remember fast forwarding through all the commercials and intermissions. It's very nerve racking without that commercial downtime. I think with about 2:30 left in the 3rd period Patrick Elias scored the game winning goal.

The next day I purchased tickets to the Stanley Cup finals. They won the cup, but sadly it was on the road. No biggie, I was at game 7 in 2003 to watch them win another cup. Tonight the Devils will begin the quest towards another cup. After last seasons ridiculous collapse, they are hungry. Can't wait til the game starts tonight. Let's Go Devils.

If you aren't pumped, take a look at this video. It should get you going.

Pix 103 - Who's Bad?

You'll notice the format of this post is a little different that usual. Today's post needed something different. I wish I could make this post on the 19th (day 110) to match the number of shutouts Martin Brodeur has, but it has to be posted today. Why today? Because the NHL Playoffs start tomorrow. The New Jersey Devils face the Philadelphia Flyers in round 1. Why not tomorrow? I already have a great post ready for tomorrow.

I have always considered myself a die-hard fan. I get into the games, yell at the TV, defend my players at every turn. Well my friend Mary just said: "You ain't nothin...YOU AIN'T NOTHIN!"

She didn't say those exact words to me, she didn't have to. Check out what she did to prove that she is not only a true die-hard fan, but quite possibly the NJ Devils #1 fan in the world. She also cemented her place as the baddest chick I know.

She traveled from New Hampshire to Montreal and somehow got to meet my favorite player and the goaltender with the most wins in NHL history Martin Brodeur.
I guess Mary didn't have any paper, so she had Marty autograph her hip, just below her NJ Devils logo tattoo.
Milk-a-what??? Yes, that's right. She is getting Marty's autograph tattooed on her hip.

The final product: A fresh Martin Brodeur tattoo. Now you understand why she has the title of "baddest chick I know"

Mary AKA 'Blue Eyed Devil' is the most die hard fan I know. Any sport, man or woman. I hope the New Jersey Devils see this and hook her up as a honorary captain for a playoff game or shoot her a puck or something. Either way join me, Mary and the rest of the Devils' fans in cheering the Devils on to their 4th Stanley Cup Championship. Let's Go Devils!!!

Pix 74 - Beautiful day for a run

Well it was a beautiful day for a run, we went out with the jogging stroller, but then we stopped and talked a lot along the way. We were out for an hour and we didn't even make a mile! LOL I'll make up for it tomorrow.
