Pix 116 - the sun will come out tomorrow

There were tornado watches in effect, thousands of lightning bolts and a lot of rain, but tomorrow is here and now we're just left with rainbows.

Pix 95 - Shuttle Launch

This morning at 6:21 the Space shuttle took off. The pictures from my house 60 miles away were not that good, but it's an awesome sight. About 20 minutes later, the plume was still visible. The picture doesn't do it justice.

So, Is the space shuttle a space ship? Discuss....

Pix 46 - It's snowing

Wow. I am WAY behind here....here come my pix.

Here is some snow from Monday night during my trip to NY. Sorry to my friends in NY, I was in town for business, no time to play. And trust me, you didn't want any part of that stomach bug I had.

Pix 10 - That's not good

I had absolutely nothing planned to do today. I was nervous that I wouldn't have a picture for today. So I put a plastic cup of water on the patio so I could take a picture of it when it froze. Apparently I pissed off the photoblog Gods.

We woke up and we had no water. Our pipes outside that feed the house were frozen. Most of the houses around us had the same issue. No Water. Then pop, pop, pop. One at a time, the irrigation backflows exploded. Water shot up 7-10 feet in the air. I turned off 2 of them. Got soaked and had to change. Eventually mine bust and I switched that off too.

I thought I was done. The water came on, but it was just a trickle. They it was pulsating. Something's wrong I thought. I looked outside and water was shooting from the pipe. It cracked. Three trips to Lowes later and help from my neighbors Chris and Lonnie and we're back in business. Hopefully tomorrow is not as eventful as today, but come back for another pix.

Pix 8 - Good Morning

I took this picture very early this morning. It was just before 7:00 while I was driving to work. There are many beautiful sunrises and sunsets in Central Florida. This morning's was especially beautiful. Not sure the picture does it justice.

It's the earliest I've posted a pix, but I don't think I'm topping this one today. Enjoy it and come back tomorrow for another pix.

Pix 4 - Baby It's Cold Outside

It's currently 43 degrees in Central Florida with lows expected in the low 30s. There is a freeze warning in my county and a hard freeze warning in the counties north of me. Even in winter, this is not normal for Central Florida. It's going to be like this for the rest of the week. Friday night there is a 30% chance of a rain/snow mix. According to friends, it's been 20 years since it's snowed this far south. Fingers crossed that it snows overnight. If it snows during rush hour I don't even want to think about what the commute on I-4 will be like.

According to legend, well the plant guy on News 13, you are supposed to cover your plants with a sheet when temperatures get this low. I felt a little silly covering them, but felling a little silly is a lot better than replacing my shrubs in the spring.
